Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it on sensitive skin?
Yes, use a gentle pressure or use as a leave on enzymatic mask and rinse.
Can I use it if I have rosacea or eczema?
Yes, use the 'sit on mask' method described in the video above and do not use during a flare. If your skin is reactive to gentle essential oils or extremely delicate use our sensitive skin cleansing balm or a mask of pure raw honey instead.
Should I exfoliate before or after using other products?
Gently cleanse and then exfoliate. All other products come afterwards.
Should it leave oil residue on my face?
This exfoliator is plant oil based for nourishment and glide - simply rinse off the particles and let any remaining oil soak into your skin - it's non greasy, non comedogenic and will help support your skin barrier. If you would prefer to remove all oil residue, you can do this by using a warm face cloth.
Should I exfoliate in the morning or evening?
Either! Just be sure to follow up with the rest of your am or pm routine and if it's morning, don't forget your spf to protect that fresh skin.
Can I use it during menopause?
Yes, gentle exfoliation is helpful during menopause because hormonal changes often affect the skin’s renewal process, moisture levels and texture. As oestrogen levels decline, skin tends to become thinner, drier, less elastic and slower at shedding dead skin cells. Gentle exfoliation helps remove this build-up, revealing a smoother, brighter complexion while allowing hydrating products to absorb more effectively - helping menopausal skin look and feel healthier.
Is it a physical or chemical exfoliator?
Both! It contains gentle physical exfoliants teamed with the natural chemical enzymatic exfoliating action of raw honey which acts like a PHA, helping to gently dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells.
I thought physical exfoliators/scrubs were bad for skin?
They can be. It depends on the formulation - avoid ones that use shells, kernels, fruit stones or large salt particles. This exfoliator uses gentle, fine exfoliants and is oil based to avoid any unnecessary abrasion.
What makes it different to other face exfoliators?
It's made from premium natural ingredients, biodegradable particles, is free from PFAs, silicones and microplastics that are often found in mainstream exfoliators. It exfoliates effectively while respecting the skin's natural balance and processes. It's also a pleasurable ritual of selfcare.
